Primary myelofibrosis (PMF) is a rare bone marrow blood cancer. It is classified by the World Health Organization (WHO) as a type of myeloproliferative neoplasm, a group of cancers in which there is activation and growth of mutated cells in the bone marrow. === Notable incidents of use === DJ Screw, who popularized the codeine-based drink, died of a codeine–promethazine, Valium, and PCP overdose on November 16, 2000, several months after the video of Three 6 Mafia's single debuted. Big Moe, a DJ Screw protégé whose albums City of Syrup and Purple World were based on the drink and who has been described as having "rapped obsessively about the drug", died at age 33 on October 14, 2007, after suffering a heart attack one week earlier that left him in a coma. There was speculation that lean may have contributed to his death. Pimp C, a widely influential rapper from Port Arthur, Texas, and member of the rap duo UGK, was found dead on December 4, 2007, at the Mondrian Hotel in West Hollywood, California. The Los Angeles County Coroner's Office reported that the rapper's death was "due to promethazine-codeine effects and other unestablished factors." Ed Winter, assistant chief of the Coroner's Office, said the levels of the medication were elevated, but not enough to deem the death an overdose. However, Pimp C had a history of sleep apnea, a condition that causes one to stop breathing for short periods during sleep. A spokesman for the coroner's office said that the combination of sleep apnea and cough medication probably suppressed Pimp C's breathing long enough to bring on his death. Fredo Santana, an American rapper who frequently made references to the drink in his music, died of a seizure on January 19, 2018.
=== Second House passage === The House of Representatives needed to pass the Senate version of the OBBBA for the bill to reach the President's desk. On July 1, 2025, President Trump and Senate majority leader Thune expressed confidence that the bill would pass in the House. House Republican moderates such as David Valadao and Young Kim of California, and Jeff Van Drew of New Jersey, who are against Medicaid cuts, Nick LaLota of New York, who is against SALT changes, and fiscal conservatives such as Chip Roy and Keith Self of Texas, who oppose federal deficit increases, had expressed opposition by June 30 to the bill in its then-current form. The House Rules Committee voted 7–6 on July 1, 2025, to advance the bill to the floor. Fiscal conservative Republicans Chip Roy and Ralph Norman voted against advancing the bill. Usually, the members of the majority party on the Rules Committee always vote to advance the bill to the floor. A procedural vote on July 2, 2025, while negotiations were ongoing off the House floor, was the longest vote in House history. In the early morning of July 3, 2025, the House approved the final procedural rule vote 219–213. The vote, which began on the evening of July 2, was initially opposed by five Republicans: moderate Brian Fitzpatrick of Pennsylvania and fiscal conservatives Victoria Spartz of Indiana, Andrew Clyde of Georgia, Keith Self of Texas, and Thomas Massie of Kentucky. Eight other fiscal conservative Republicans, including Tim Burchett of Tennessee and Chip Roy of Texas, withheld their votes.
The Israeli Defense Force (IDF) actively recruits influencers on TikTok and other social media platforms, often with what commentators have dubbed "Thirst traps". In a separate case in 2021, the IDF awarded a TikToker who was one of its military police officers for promoting the image of Israel. She had more followers than IDF spokesperson Ran Kochav or Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Since 2021, TikTok has created "election centres" on its platform leading up to European Parliament elections. About 30% of EP lawmakers use TikTok to get their messages across and to dispel misinformation. In February 2024, the re-election campaign for then-US president Joe Biden announced that it had opened a TikTok account while taking "advanced safety precautions". Biden posted his first video during Super Bowl LVIII. The move was criticized by a number of lawmakers over security concerns. Since 2022, the Biden administration had briefed TikTokers on news items such as the Russo-Ukrainian war and student debt relief in the United States.

The Free Peru parliamentarian Silvana Robles called the impeachment motion a coup, and claimed that impeachment was always on the agenda, despite the President of Congress Maricarmen Alva claiming otherwise. Additionally, another Free Peru parliamentarian, Kelly Portalatino, accused Vice President Dina Boluarte of conspiring against Castillo. Previously, Boluarte had distanced herself from Free Peru and tried negotiating with the opposition, including Chirinos. Chirinos denied speaking to Boluarte regarding an impeachment. Boluarte on the other hand also responded by saying that her total loyalty was with the President and the Peruvian people. On 23 November 2021, the Free Peru parliamentarian Margot Palacios claimed that she would evaluate supporting the impeachment motion against President Castillo.

=== North Atlantic === Recipes for fish maw, specifically codfish maw, are documented in Hannah Glasse's 1747 English cuisine cookbook The Art of Cookery Made Plain and Easy: fish maw is presented in gravy, broiled, and as a fricassee. Cod maw was later described as a 'delicacy' in the 1911 American food industry encyclopedia, The Grocer's Encyclopedia, by Artemas Ward. Cod maw is a traditional food of Newfoundland, owing to the ubiquity of the cod fishing industry. It was typically salted for preservation until use, then boiled and stewed. The popularity of cod maw dropped in the late 20th century along with cod tongue and cheeks, but has begun to see a resurgence with culinary tourism and interest in nose to tail eating. In Portugal, Codfish maw (Portuguese: sames) was salted and brought to shore to be eaten as a fisherman's dish. Portuguese sailors from Figueira da Foz would rely on codfish maw as a byproduct of cod fishing in Newfoundland. Feijoada is traditionally made with fish maw instead of pork in Figueira da Foz (Feijoada de sames).
An analysis of clinical trials by the FDA statisticians showed the incidence of suicidal behaviour among the adults on venlafaxine to be not significantly different from fluoxetine or placebo. Venlafaxine is contraindicated in children, adolescents, and young adults. In children and adolescents with depression, venlafaxine increases the risk of suicidal thoughts or attempts.

The small intestine is a tubular structure around 6 to 7 m long, that begins at the duodenum, and ends at the ileum. Its mucosal area in an adult human is about 30 m2 (320 sq ft). The combination of the circular folds, the villi, and the microvilli increases the absorptive area of the mucosa about 600-fold, making a total area of about 250 m2 (2,700 sq ft) for the entire small intestine. === Optical isomerism === Glutamic acid is chiral; two mirror-image enantiomers exist: d(−), and l(+). The l form is more widely occurring in nature, but the d form occurs in some special contexts, such as the bacterial capsule and cell walls of bacteria (which produce it from the l form with the enzyme glutamate racemase) and can be found in small amounts in the liver and other organs of mammals, either directly from dietary sources or from production by the gut microbiota.
